Directions and Maps to the January 2009 SDTMS Retreat in Temecula, California

The 2009 San Diego Thomas Merton Society retreat with Fr. William Meninger will be held Friday, January 30 through Sunday, February 1, 2009, at Vina de Lestonnac Retreat Center in the beautiful wine country of Temecula, California. Registration will begin at 3:30 Friday afternoon, with a wine and cheese social at 5:00, dinner at 6:00 and a brief opening session at 7:00.

Directions

From Los Angeles Airport (about 1½ - 2 hours):

• 405 South to
• 55 North (Riverside) to
• 91 East to
• 15 South (San Diego)

From Ontario Airport (about 40 minutes):

• 10 East to
• 15 South (for about 40 miles)

From San Diego Airport (about an hour):

• 5 North to
• 8 East to
• 15 North (for about an hour)

Once on Interstate 15 from all starting points:

• Exit 79 South (Indio)
• Left at the bottom of the ramp, taking you under the freeway (from San Diego, turn right)
• Remain on 79 South for about 5.1 miles
• You will pass Home Depot and Wal-Mart
• Left (north) on Anza Road
• Right at the next stop sign, on De Portola
• About 4.2 miles down De Portola, past horse ranches, and just past Filsinger Winery, on the left you will see the bright blue roofs of the various buildings of Viña de Lestonnac
  
• Left into the entrance, down a long driveway to the bottom of the hill, where you will see dorm rooms and ample parking

Rooms are located in the retreat residential area, adjoining the meditation hall. Look for the "Registration" signs that will point you towards the registration desk inside.
